Tram 18 heads north away from the Jewellery Quarter, with the BT Tower visible to the right (0.93 miles away as the crow flies). This shot was taken at 15:23 on Tuesday 11th August 2020. Hockley station once stood in the centre of this view, with sidings to the left in the area above the tram, plus extensive goods sheds and yards to the right.
This 1967 view
was taken from roughly the same spot on All Saints St using a slightly wider-angle lens. Note the wall on the left, much more visible in the earlier shot, but minus the red fencing on top.
